Daniel Arriaga & Sandra Zuniga from the University of Texas at Austin will discuss the Geology of Mexico. There will be three short talks: 1) An introduction to the Geology of Mexico & its relationship to the Geological Evolution of North America, 2) The Ancestral Rocky Mountains unroofing history recorded in the Orogrande Basin, New Mexico, and 3) Early to Middle Jurassic rifting in southeast Mexico and implications for Gulf of Mexico opening. All are welcome to attend. There will be pizza!
