Ambassador David Scheffer is a lawyer and diplomat who served as the first United States Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues, during the Clinton Administration.
Currently, he teaches at the Northwestern University School of Law, where he also directs the Center for International Human Rights.
Ambassador Scheffer also currently serves as the UN Secretary General's Special Expert on UN Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.
His visit is being co-sponsored by the International Law Society, the Reves Center, and the Comparative Legal Studies and Post-Conflict Peacebuilding Program.
