"A Snapshot of Health Law"

Please join the Health Law and Policy Society for our first annual Symposium: “A Snapshot of Health Law” to be held on April 10, 2021 from 10:30am -3:00pm. This Symposium will be divided into three different panels:

The Health Law Career Panel (10:30am - 11:30am) where we will be inviting health law attorneys from various sectors to speak about their career path and their journey. Speakers include: Professor Kern-Scheerer (Professor & Director of the Immigration Clinic), Professor Poma (TPMG In House Counsel & Adjunct Professor), Angela McGowan (American Public Health Association), Sara Blose (Central Virginia Legal Aid Society), Kayla McCann Marty (McGuireWoods LLP), and Mairi Mull (Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP).

The Supreme Court Panel: The Future of Roe v. Wade co-sponsored with If/When/How (12:00pm - 1:00pm) where we will be discussing the future of Roe v. Wade and Reproductive Rights under the new administration. Speakers include: Professor Devins, Professor Lewis, and Professor Hamilton.

The “Life After COVID-19?” Panel (1:30pm -2:30pm) where Christine Payne, RN and Immunization Outreach Coordinator for the Peninsula for the Virginia Department of Health, will be discussing vaccination distribution in Virginia.
