[PAST EVENT] Relief Wood Sculpture Workshop with Donald Wilson
Access & Features
- Open to the public
- Registration/RSVP
- Ticketed event
Artist Donald Wilson will combine art-making and guided imagery, a mind-body intervention, to inspire the creative process and explore the possibilities of abstract art. Participants will focus on how positive and negative spaces support and engage each other while using organic and geometric shapes cut from wood to explore the realm of non-objective compositions. Then, a guided imagery exercise will create a mental movie to generate ideas to adorn the compositions. Participants will take home their own abstract sculpture, ready to display.
This workshop is designed for adults and youth aged 14+. All materials will be provided, and all skill levels are welcome; just bring your imagination!
Workshop fee: Muscarelle Members, W&M Staff, Faculty, and Students $25; Non-Members $35
INSTRUCTOR:
Donald Wilson
Mixed Medium Artist
Please note that space is limited to 20 participants.
