[PAST EVENT] Art After Hours: What’s in a Portrait: Pastel Portraits
Access & Features
- Registration/RSVP
- Ticketed event
*FOR WILLIAM & MARY STUDENTS ONLY*
Students will learn how to render expressive portraits from live models in pastel with a limited palette of colors. We will cover proportion, understanding features and color development.
Art After Hours workshops at the Muscarelle Museum of Art are designed for current William & Mary students with majors outside of Studio Art to learn more about disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more. Priority registration will be limited to non-Studio Art majors and students who have not yet declared a major. Studio Art majors may register in the week preceding the workshop if spaces are available.
Art After Hours seeks to expand the reach of W&M arts programs and provide more students with opportunities to explore creativity and discover self-understanding through artistic expression. The program is made possible through a generous gift from Jean B. Estes ’75, P ’06 and Rob W. Estes ’74, P ’06.
