Dr. Leinen is a highly distinguished national leader and oceanographer, who will deliver a presentation titled "Changing Climate - Changing Ocean" in celebration of 100 Years of Women at William & Mary.
She currently is the director of Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, one of the largest and most influential institutions globally on ocean and atmospheric science. She also serves as a U.S. Science Envoy focusing on ocean science in Latin America, East Asia, and the Pacific and is the founder of the Climate Response Fund, a non-profit organization that works to foster discussion of climate engineering research and to decrease the risk that these techniques might be called on or deployed before they are adequately understood and regulated.
