With closings and restrictions impacting state and local school systems and service providers, youth and young adults with disabilities face a unique set of challenges to continue to make progress toward employment and career goals. Join us for a community conversation and Q&A with our panel of guests to discuss challenges faced by youth and young adults with developmental disabilities as families work to provide ongoing vocational and work readiness instruction while unemployment continues to rise. We will offer strategies, answer questions you may have, and provide resources to support progress toward transition and employment goals from home during the pandemic.
Panelists:
- Tonya Gokita, Transition Specialist, Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools
- Heartley Huber, Assistant Professor of Special Education, William & Mary
- Elizabeth Redford, Executive Director and Co-founder, The Next Move Program
- Jaqueline Rodriguez, Assistant Vice President, AACTE
An open Q&A will follow the presentation. Bring your questions!
