Community-based nutrition studies seek to improve caregiver behaviors for child feeding, yet often overlook important underlying factors related to maternal decision-making and social support that may prevent mother's from adopting health behaviors that are promoted through traditional interventions.
Dr. Scott Ickes will share results from his research in western Uganda to describe methods for understanding challenges faced by mothers for feeding young children in poor contexts, and the social and cultural factors that underlie these constraints.
