[PAST EVENT] The Rise of Illiberal Democracies in Europe & Asia
April 5, 2016
5pm
Are we seeing the rise of democratically elected governments chipping away at the very idea of liberal democracy in Europe and Asia today? Will the growing incidents of intolerance and even violence against non-citizens and minorities and a rise in restriction of civil liberties permanently damage the functioning of liberal democracies in these regions? Come hear W&M professors explore the possible long-term implications of the rise of illiberal democracies in Europe and Asia.
