[PAST EVENT] Virtual Career Chat: Patty Larsen, National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC)

The week of January 18, the Cohen Career Center will be offering virtual Career Chats with alumni and parents of William & Mary students. These will be one hour sessions with the professional speaking for about 30 minutes and then about 30 minutes of Q&A.

Patty Larsen was named the Executive Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) in November 2016. In this role she oversees the daily operations of a national center dedicated to protecting America from foreign intelligence adversaries. These responsibilities include representing the center to raise awareness of threats as well as managing the center’s budgetary, training, human resource, and administrative matters to enable NCSC’s advancement of counterintelligence (CI) and security excellence across the U.S. Government.

From 2014-2016 she served as the Director of the National Insider Threat Task Force, leading the U.S. Government-wide program to improve the security of classified networks and the responsible sharing and safeguarding of classified information. The task force she led helped build solid insider threat programs at over 100 Executive Branch departments and agencies and shared lessons learned with industry partners, allied nations, and others at risk from malicious insiders.

Ms. Larsen served as an Army Military Intelligence (MI) officer for eleven years. While in uniform, Ms. Larsen was stationed in Germany; the Pentagon; Belgium; and Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and served in numerous leadership and staff positions.
