We are thrilled to celebrate National Arab American Heritage Month this year with a virtual event featuring speaker, author and fellow W&M graduate Nadim Bawalsa ’07, a luminary in the field of modern Palestinian history. Our Asian-Pacific Islander-Middle Eastern (APIM) Alumni Board invites you to join us via Zoom to learn about Bawalsa’s new book and to engage in the celebration of Arab American heritage.
Nadim Bawalsa is a historian of modern Palestine. His book “Transnational Palestine: Migration and the Right of Return before 1948” received the 2023 Nikkie Keddie Book Award by the Middle East Studies Association and the 2023 Palestine Book Award. Bawalsa earned a Ph.D. in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies from New York University in 2017, an M.A. in Arab studies from Georgetown University in 2010 and a B.A. in history and psychology from William & Mary in 2007. He currently serves as the associate editor for the Journal of Palestine Studies and resides in Amman, Jordan.
