[PAST EVENT] Fete de la Recherche
November 12, 2011
9am - 1pm
Fete de la Recherche is the most important annual event organized by the program in French & Francophone Studies. It is meant to encourage students to connect intellectually and socially, so that they become aware of the research others have done, and can share their experiences, strategies, and results.
This year five student speakers were selected to give formal talks in French (two will speak about their honors theses, and the other three will discuss the research they did in connection with their semester internships in Paris). There is also a plan for a poster session in order for a larger group of students to showcase the results of their summer research in Montpellier.
In addition, the students enrolled in French & Francophone Studies senior seminar (the capstone course for the French major) will receive abstracts of these papers in advance, and they will therefore be prepared to moderate discussion and to pose questions to our speakers.
