[PAST EVENT] Second application deadline for Association for India's Development Summer Internship

Association for India's Development (AID), a non-profit organization that promotes sustainability, equitable and just development at grass-root level projects in India, is offering internship opportunities at some partner NGOs in India in the field of education. Applicants can be Undergraduate or Graduate students of any discipline. AID initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education, livelihoods, natural resources including land, water and energy, agriculture, health, women's empowerment and social justice (www.aidindia.org).

During the year 2012, students will have the opportunity to work on any one of the programs listed below or other similar programs:

Parivartan - Education for children in the slums of Mumbai (http://www.parivartansanstha.org/ )

Parichay- Strives to make underprivileged locales self-sustainable through education (http://parichayonline.org/ )

Eureka Child - Empowerment of local communities through projects in the fields of education, health and livelihood (http://www.eurekachild.org/)

Deepa Academy- Promotes value based education to visually challenged girls (http://www.deepaacademy.org )

The first deadline for applications for Internship is January 20th, 2012 and second deadline is Feb 14th, 2012. Preference will be given to early applications. The applications will be screened on the strength of the credentials and passion of the applicant for the program. The shortlisted candidates will interact with the concerned NGOs and will be selected based on mutual consent. The consenting candidates will be required to sign necessary documents.
