Elizabeth Lyons and Kathryn Pharr from the U.S. Department of State will be visiting campus Tuesday, January 31. They will be presenting on and discussing topics including the relationship among science, government, policy, and international relations; as well as the story of their own career paths leading to their current positions.

Elizabeth works at the National Science Foundation and is on loan to the Department of State. She is Senior Advisor for the Science, Technology, Space & Health Directorate, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs. Kathryn is Management Analyst in the Office of Science and Technology Cooperation, and a 2006 graduate from William and Mary, with majors in Chemistry and International Relations. Their campus visit presents an excellent networking and learning opportunity for both faculty and students.
