East European Studies Summer Research Scholarships are available to graduate students (MA or higher) and scholars who are U.S. citizens. Summer Research Scholars will be given access to a workspace and computer facilities in the Wilson Center library. Grants are for 2 months during the summer and include residency at the Wilson Center.

EES offers summer research scholarships to scholars working on policy relevant projects on East Europe. While Southeast Europe remains a primary focus, projects on Central Europe and the Baltic states are again eligible. Projects should focus on fields in the social sciences and humanities including, but not limited to: Anthropology, History, Political Science, Slavic Languages and Literatures, and Sociology. All projects should aim to highlight their potential policy relevance.

To apply for a TItle VIII Summer Research Scholarship award, the applicant must submit the following:
-a concise description of his/her research project
-a curriculum vitae
-a statement of preferred and alternate dates of residence in Washington, DC
-one letter of recommendation in support of the research to be conducted at the center
