The Polynesian canoe Hokule'a, Hawaii's state treasure, will visit Chesapeake Bay this spring as part of its worldwide voyage. Join us as native Hawaiian navigators describe the rediscovered art of wayfinding using stars, waves, currents, and animal behavior; and explores how Hokulea's crew is working with visited communities to set a course for a sustainable future for "island Earth."
The lecture is the April installment of the After Hours lecture series for 2016. Please note that due to the vessel's schedule this lecture will take place on Tuesday evening May 3rd rather than the customary After Hours day.
Reservations to this free public lecture series are required due to limited space. Call 804-684-7061 for further information.
