The case of the Goring Ox gas been a key example of unintentional damages in laws from Ancient Mesopotamia, the Bible, Plato, and the Chinese Tang Code. Aryeh Amihay will explore the values in each version of this law and its implications for comparative research methodology.

Aryeh Amihay is a scholar of Ancient Judaism with interests in Law and Religion. He studied Biblical Studies at Hebrew University and earned a PhD from Princeton. He has taught at several universities and is currently an Associate Professor at Shanghai Normal University's Department of World History.
