Please join us in the School of Education Board Room for a presentation by visiting scholar Dr. Gagik Demirjian. He will present on the changes in education within Armenia in a post-Soviet environment. Demirjian is a visiting scholar in the School of Education and is recipient of a University Administration Support Program (UASP) Fellowship from IREX. Gagik Demirjian holds a doctorate in physics from Yerevan State University. He currently serves as the head of the Doctoral Department at the Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute where he coordinates research activities for doctoral students and monitors research quality assurance. Additionally, Dr. Demirjian serves as a professor of physics and has conducted extensive research on education administration. Following his IREX fellowship, he hopes to assist with the university's restructuring of the research office and to contribute to developing a management infrastructure for research activities.
