We have rescheduled due to rain. See below for the update
March 26, 9:30-11:30 at the Crim Dell Meadow
- During Session one, we will be working with the Crim Dell Restoration Project to remove invasive species from the area. We can consider the strengths and weaknesses of Crim Dell as a garden and multi-functional park space. In return for helping the Restoration Project, we can use the invasive bamboo poles for constructing garden structures: trellises, benches, and deer nets. Show up at the Crim Dell Meadow at 9:30 for discussion before starting plant removal.
March 26, 1-3pm Community Garden
Session two introduces planning gardens, preparing planting space, and using the garden infrastructure at the Campus Gardens. After preparing your planting area, you will plant your first seeds! No experience necessary, only curiosity, and willingness to dig.
April 3, 3-5 Community Garden
- Session three focuses on construction of garden structures: trellises, deer netting, and benches. Of course we will check on the progress of our seeds too and learning about thinning. For all who weren't able to attend session 1, you are welcome to join and set up planting areas! We will be reviewing planning gardens as we install educational signs.
April 10, 3-5 Community Garden
-Session four will be your first harvest. Bring a something to put your vegetables in! We will discuss perennial plants, how to clone plants, and designing your own garden spaces.
