China has a rich culture of many handicrafts for the common people to partake in. In this class, students can discover the joys of Chinese paper folding, paper cutting, and knot tying. Chinese paper cutting and folding are two of the most popular Chinese crafts, often seen in windows for New Years celebrations and thus often called, "window flowers." Many rural Chinese women pass the time by cutting paper. Chinese knot tying is a more advanced skill which is distinctly Chinese, you are sure to notice Chinese knots decorating restaurants or wedding halls after taking this class, as they represent unity and sticking together. You will be sure to walk away from this class with great souvenirs and better knowledge about traditional Chinese handicrafts!

The cost is $10/class for community students ($80 for 8 classes, $100 for 10 classes); $5/class for W&M faculty, staff, and students ($40 for 8 classes, $50 for 10 classes). {{https://forms.wm.edu/form/view/17050/f77a6aafba908e486f4675118138c42c, Please sign up online here today to secure your spot as the classes are filling up quickly!}}
