[PAST EVENT] The Muscarelle Museum Chalk Art Competition during My First W&M Weekend

Your registration is FREE if you participate on September 4th as part of My First W&M Weekend!
Compete for fun AND $5000 in the national Cash Prize purse (and cash-equivalent prizes for W&M winner: 1st place $200 credit; 2nd place $100 credit, and 3rd place $75 credit with Student Leadership Development for your Recognized Student Organization.)
- Register in advance OR drop by day of! (make sure you register via TribeLink in order to have the waived $20 registration fee). https://tribelink.wm.edu/submitter/form/start/552749
- By participating during My First W&M weekend, the registration fee is waived and all chalk and grid supplies will be provided – all you need to do is show up (registration in advance is requested, but not required).
Here are some pro tips to consider!
- It’s helpful but not essential if one person has some artistic confidence & skill
- Did we mention the national cash prizes??? 1st Prize: $2500; 2nd Prize: $1500; 3rd Prize: $1000 and 3 honorable mentions of $300
- Local prizes for the top three teams at W&M judged by W&M celebrity guests on 9/4! 1st place $200 credit; 2nd place $100 credit, and 3rd place $75 credit with Student Leadership Development for your Recognized Student Organization.
- Chalk drawings are 8x8 feet
- It will take a 10-person group about 90 minutes to complete their work and a 5-person group about 2 hours
- Muscarelle staff will provide grid layout for images OR you can pick your own image from the permanent collection of the Muscarelle Museum of Art. More info on choosing an image at: https://muscarelle.wm.edu/chalkart/images/
