[PAST EVENT] SPARK Leadership: Conflict Management across the Academy
Disagreements and conflicts are inevitable aspects of human nature. They occur in both our professional and personal lives. While often difficult, this element of our human experience offers all of us an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to show the best side of our humanity.
Shifting the paradigm from conflict resolution to conflict management will make this challenge easier to address. Even so, many factors may inhibit our efforts to manage conflict well in the complex setting of a college or university. committing to improving our skills and behaviors will make difficult but necessary conversations less uncomfortable which will lead to better decisions in meeting rooms, classrooms, labs, and offices.
