The Center for Gifted Education hosts Focusing on the Future. Focusing on the Future (FOF) exposes high-ability middle and high school learners to career opportunities related to the arts, humanities, mathematics, and sciences.

We often think about how painting and fine art have influenced cinema. Less understood is how painters use film as an extension of their practice. This talk will show examples of works of film and video art made by painters and other visual artists.

Learn how to make a ?long take? engaging and dynamic using professional filmmaking tools. In addition to learning about the tools, students will create a single long-take shot during the class.

This cultural event is free and open to the community. It features Black Owned Businesses from across Virginia and aspiring student entrepreneurs. Partake in a day of community engagement, education, and culture in celebration of Black History Month! 

Directed by W&M professor Nathan Rabalais, Finding Cajun (2018) makes its Virginia premiere during the W&M Global Film Festival. The documentary presents a critical perspective on the origin and evolution of Cajun identity. Q&A with director to follow.

On December 4, 1779, George Wythe became the first professor of law in America, a professorship created at William & Mary by the Board of Visitors at the urging of Thomas Jefferson. Various events will commemorate the 240th anniversary of that event.

As part of the 100 Years of Women celebration at William & Mary, The President's Collection of Art presents Following in their Footsteps at the Sadler Center. This exhibition showcases alumane art thematically depicting works by women, of women.
