The William & Mary Confucius Institute is honored to welcome Professor Xinsong Wang to deliver a lecture entitled ?Civic Engagement of the Middle Class in China: Survey Findings and Implications.? In this lecture, Professor Wang will discuss scholarly research on patterns of civic engagement of middle class people in China. This event will be held in the Reves Room in the Reves Center for International Studies from 4:30 to 6:00 pm on Monday, September 25th. This lecture is free and open to the public.
Xinsong Wang is an associate professor at the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Beijing Normal University. His fields of study are comparative politics, politics of development, Chinese politics, local governance, and civic engagement. His recent research examines China?s soft power foreign policy approach, focusing on the case of the utilization of scholarship programs for international students to study in China. Wang has taught courses in comparative politics, political development, international politics and Chinese politics. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from Georgia State University in the U.S. and his B.A. in English and International Studies from Foreign Affairs College in China.
