Dr. Tamura Lomax, CEO, The Feminist Wire, discusses Chasing Tenure: Lessons From an Independent Black Woman Scholar.
Dr. Lomax is an educator, writer, and co-founder/CEO of The Feminist Wire, an online publication committed to feminist, anti-racist, and anti-imperialist sociopolitical critique.
She received her Ph.D. in religion from Vanderbilt University, where she specialized in Black Religion and Black Diaspora Studies and developed expertise in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies and Black British and U.S. Black Cultural Studies.
She is the co-author of Womanist and Black Feminist Responses to Tyler Perry?s Cultural Productions (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), and the author of Jezebel Unhinged: Loosing the Black Female Body in Religion and Culture (Duke University Press, 2018).
After the lecture, Dr. Lomax will sign copies of her latest book Jezebel Unhinged: Loosing the Black Female Body in Religion and Culture (Duke University Press, 2018).
