Please join Ying Liu, Associate Director of Global Partnerships at the Reves Center, and Michael Clay, Assistant Director of Fellowships in the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs for a presentation that will provide information on a diverse range of fellowship opportunities students at W&M have access to.

We will discuss internal fellowship opportunities that are organized and awarded by W&M as well as external fellowships that are managed, funded, and awarded by organizations outside of W&M such as a private trust or the federal government.

Ying will discuss two internal fellowships for W&M students: the Freeman Fellowship—an award that provides funding to send up to 24 W&M undergraduates to conduct internships in Asia; and the La Plata Human Rights Summer Fellowship—an award that offers W&M students the opportunity to travel to Argentina to work with the Comisión Provincial por la Memoria to address human rights issues past and present.

Michael will discuss several external fellowship opportunities that students can apply for. These include opportunities such as the Boren Awards or Critical Language Scholarship which provide funding to study languages abroad, the Payne, Pickering, or Rangel awards which provide tuition for graduate study and resources for students who wish to serve as a Foreign Service Officer, or the Fulbright U.S. student program which provides funding for graduating seniors to teach English, conduct research, or attend graduate school internationally.
