[PAST EVENT] Dr. Kenneth Bernard Lecture: Politics, National Security, and Global Health
Rear Admiral Kenneth Bernard, MD, USPHS (Ret) will speak at William & Mary on ?Politics, National Security, and Global Health.? Dr. Bernard is an expert in biodefense policy, serving as former Special Assistant on BioSecurity to Presidents Clinton and Bush and as former chair of the Whitehouse Biodefense Policy Coordinating committee. He consults with the Departments of Health, Defense, State and the White House on security and health issues. He previously worked in Senator Bill Frist?s office on high priority international health issues, and he worked in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as Special Adviser for National Security, Intelligence and Defense. He also served as the Associate Director for Medical and Scientific Affairs in the Office of International Health, International Health Attach? at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Senior Adviser to the Director General of the World Health Organization, and as U.S. Public Service Adviser to the U.S. Peace Corps.
Immediately following Dr. Bernard?s lecture, a reception will be held in Tyler Commons.
