Come join Ambassador Charles A. Ford for a conversation on the "Next Generation of Foreign Service Officers" on Thursday, April 3rd from 5 to 6 pm in Morton 140C.
Ambassador Ford served as the U.S. Ambassador to Honduras from 2005-2008. He has had a long and distinguished career in the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service including serving as the Commercial Minister at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium; Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela; Commercial Minister at the U.S. Embassy in London; Commercial Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala; Commercial Consul at the U.S. Consulate in Barcelona, Spain; and Commercial Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. More recently he served as the Acting Assistant Secretary of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service at the Commerce Department. His numerous honors and awards include the President's Distinguished Service Award, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Distinguished Civilian Service Award, and the Department of Commerce Silver, Gold and Bronze Medals.
Ambassador Ford has a B.A. in Economics from William and Mary, and a M.A. in Latin American Studies from George Washington University. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Jefferson Program in Public Policy.
