The International Law Society will host guest speaker Dr. Vadim Volkov of the European University of St. Petersburg, who will present a lecture titled "Sentencing Disparities in Russia's Criminal Justice System: The Analysis of Large Datasets."  Free and all are welcome. At the university, Dr. Volkov is the Vice-Rector for Innovations and Head of the Research Institute for the Rule of Law. He received his PhD in sociology from Cambridge University and his Doctor of Sciences degree in Sociology, specializing in economic sociology.  Dr. Volkov has appeared on the list of the ten most influential sociologists and economists in Russia from 2000-2010 (?Russkii reporter?), and was the most-cited Russian sociologist in foreign language publications according to the Web of Science (2003-2008).
