Abstract: Many evolution processes are characterized by the fact that at certain moments of time they experience a change of state abruptly. Consequently, it is natural to assume that these perturbations act instantaneously, that is, in the form of impulses. Impulsive differential equations, that is, differential equations involving impulse effects, are a natural description of observed evolution phenomena of several real world problems, such as population biology, rhythmical beating, the diffusion of chemicals, the radiation of electromagnetic waves, and so on. Impulsive control arises naturally in a wide variety of applications, such as orbital transfer of satellite, ecosystems management, and control of money supply in a financial market. Based on impulsive differential equations, impulsive control has attracted the interest of many researchers recently. In this talk, we introduce some results of stability and control for impulsive systems. This is a joint work in part with my students.
