[PAST EVENT] Come Sta L'Italiano? A Conversation with Beppe Severgnini
Location
ZoomAccess & Features
- Open to the public
Since 1998 Beppe Severgnini has written a daily column for Italy's Corriere della sera newspaper, in which he responds to readers' queries about contemporary Italian issues. This past fall, W&M instructor Rita Paolino sent in a letter asking what faculty might do to highlight the continued relevance of studying Italian language and culture in North America. Severgnini responded by agreeing to have a live conversation with us via Zoom about this question and more. We invite you to join in for what will surely be an engaging conversation with Severgnini, who is also a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times and author of Ciao America: An Italian Discovers the US (2002), Bella Figura: A Field Guide to the Italian Mind (2008), and Off the Rails: A Train Trip Through Life (2019), among other books. All are welcome. Please email Italian Studies program director Monica Seger for Zoom Meeting ID: mjseger@wm.edu.
