The Visiting Scholar Panel discussion will include presentations by three visiting scholars from China who have spent the year at the School of Education. This event is scheduled for Monday, April 29th from 12:00 noon- 1:30 pm. A light lunch will be served.
From Renmin University of China in Beijing, China:
Ms. Li’s presentation is Building World-Class Universities: Projects to Improve Higher Education in China. Ms. Li is a second-year Ph.D. student with her bachelor's in English and master's degree in History of Education. Her current research focuses on the development of educational policy from a historical perspective and the educational policy differences between U.S. and China.
Mr. Xiao’s presentation is Status Quo of Institutional Markets: A Comparative Study between the U.S. and China. Mr. Xiao is a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Economics and Management. A former marketing major, his research interest is on the marketization of higher education, especially the institutional markets and educational entrepreneurship.
From East China Normal University in Shanghai, China:
Ms. Zhang’s presentation is The Perceptions of Industry Experts regarding the Apprenticeship Experience on Career Success. Ms. Zhang is a Ph.D. candidate in Vocational and Technical Education. Her current research focuses on apprenticeship training in vocational education, career development, and career education.
