[PAST EVENT] Summer 2013 Cadiz, Spain Study Abroad Program Information Session

Interested in studying abroad this summer in Cadiz, Spain? If so, attend this information session hosted by Professor Cate-Arries.
Students in the Cadiz 2013 summer program will earn a total of 8 Hispanic Studies credits, 5 through Spanish language and culture courses and 3 through independent, on-site research. Classes with University of Cadiz professors include the study of language, cultural history, and contemporary Spanish music and film. Students will also complete an independent research project under the supervision of W&M's Program Director, Dr. Francie Cate-Arries, Professor of Hispanic Studies.
Throughout the program students live with Spanish families in Cadiz, the oldest city in Western Europe. This homestay includes all meals, and allows students to become more fully immersed in local culture and traditions.
Cadiz is a small city of about 160,000 inhabitants situated on the southernmost coast of Spain. It is renowned for its flamenco music, historic role as the seat of 19th century Spain's original Parliament, and the site of Julius Caesar's first public office. The city preserves the legacy of the different cultures that have populated it with numerous monuments, museums, plazas and charming, narrow streets. It is also known for the traditional hospitality of its people, which makes it an inviting place for students.
