Williamsburg, VA 23185
As part of the Reves Center Distinguished Lectures in International Studies series, documentary filmmaker Pamerla Yates will be speaking, screening, and answering questions about her film Granito: How to Nail a Dictator. The film documents army violence and repression in Guatemala in the 1980s and looks at how this footage is now being used as evidence against Guatemalan generals as they stand trial in Spain for genocide.
