[PAST EVENT] The Double Life of Female Celebrity

The Annual Minnie Braithwaite Lecture in Women's Studies commemorates Minnie Braithwaite's courage in attempting to become the first woman to attend classes at the College of William & Mary in 1896.
Professor Marcus is the Orlando Harriman Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University, New York. She specializes in 19th century British and French literature and culture, and is currently writing a book about theatrical celebrity in the 19th century.
