Professor Zhen Liu, a Yijing (I Ching) scholar at China University of Political Science and Law, will deliver a lecture in the Reves Room from 3:30pm to 5:00pm on September 22 as part of a lecture series given at universities including the University of Maryland, George Washington University and Old Dominion University on I Ching philosophy. I Ching (The Book of Changes) is a series of ancient texts that together outline the oldest philosophical system in China. I Ching philosophy employs a distinctive and mysterious system of 64 hexagrams or ?gua.? These hexagrams and their relationships make up the main body of Chinese divination and cosmology. Remnants of this ancient philosophy can still be seen today in many aspects of East Asian culture. This event is free and open to the public!
