Estuarine Sentinel Sites: From Environmental Measurements to Climate Change Management

The Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Virginia (CBNERR-VA) is part of multiple sentinel site partnerships that identify unique areas around the country to serve as places dedicated to studying the impacts of climate change, sea level rise, and much more. Join Dr. Carl Friedrichs, Associate Director of CBNERR-VA, as he discusses the role CBNERR-VA has played in supporting sentinel sites, and the research they are conducting to better understand the effects of local and global change on coastal environments, including estuarine waters, seagrass meadows, and tidal wetlands.

We are excited to offer this lecture in-person in McHugh Auditorium on VIMS' Gloucester Point Campus! Face masks are currently required for all individuals in indoor spaces on the VIMS campus. This lecture will also be available as a live-streamed webinar. Registration is required for both in-person and webinar, and you can select which way you will attend when you register. Webinar links will be sent in the registration confirmation email.

After Hours lectures are designed for an adult audience. At this time, the VIMS campus is closed to individuals under the age of 13.
