Jeffrey Herf, Distinguished University Professor of History, UMD

Professor Jeffrey Herf, Distinguished University Professor of History at the University of Maryland, will give a public lecture on "Germany and Jewish Questions in the Revolution and Unification of 1989-1990--and Since" as part of the German Studies Commemorative Weekend on the the Fall of the Wall and German Reunification, November 8-9. Professor Herf is the author of several path-breaking books in Modern German History, including Reactionary Modernism: Technology, Culture, and Politics in Weimar and the Third Reich (1986);  Divided Memory: The Nazi Past in the Two Germanys (1997); The Jewish Enemy: Nazi Propaganda during World War II and the Holocaust (2008); Undeclared Wars with Israel: East Germany and the West German Far Left, 1967–1989 (2016).
