[PAST EVENT] The Fullness of Fragements: Clive Knights Lecture & Reception
In spring 2024, the Muscarelle is partnering with the Department of Art & Art History to bring the exhibition Nascent Themes from a Conversation of Fragments; Recent Collages by Clive Knights, to the W&M campus. The exhibition examines the roles of creativity and cognition through the collage work of English artist and architect Clive Knights.
Join us for a lecture by Knights in Tucker Hall Theatre, followed by a reception and viewing of the exhibition in the Daily Grind. By way of introduction to a life in collage, illustrated with work created across several decades, the presentation will articulate Knights's thoughts on the cultural value of collage, its role as poetic making, and its metaphoric potential to animate common human themes.
A reception will follow in the Daily Grind.
