[PAST EVENT] School of Education Information Session
April 25, 2013
12pm - 2pm
As classes come to a close, have you thought about what you want to do after graduation? If not, I would like to ask you to consider a career in education. Teachers are virtually limitless in their capacity to touch lives. Teachers give knowledge and skills and urge children to pursue their dreams. And considering that on average teachers affect 3,000 kids over the course of their careers, the ripple effect of even a single teacher's impact can be astounding! And at William and Mary, we have three paths to a career in education.
Please feel free to drop in on our information session so that we can help you discover which education program is right for you. We will have pizza, drinks, information and giveways.
5 YEAR PROGRAM - We have a 5 year program that allows you to begin education classes as a senior, and then elevate to our master's program. Upon completion of the 5th year program, you will obtain your Master of Arts in Education degree, as well as your teacher licensure. This program is open to rising seniors.
SECOND MAJOR OPTION - Of course you can declare education as your second major and complete your baccalaureate degree and teacher licensure at the same time as well. The Undergraduate program can be completed in three or four semesters. Juniors should apply for the fall 2013/spring 2014 semesters by Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
GRADUATE PROGRAM - If you are interested in the graduate program, it can be completed in just 12 months. It begins in the summer each year. If you would like more information on our graduate programs, please let me know. Deadline to apply for the Summer 2014 cohort is January 15, 2014.
