The Chinese two-stringed violin, also known as the erhu, is a traditional Chinese instrument with a history that can be traced back thousands of years. On Friday, September 22nd, from 7:30 ? 8:30 pm in the Ewell Recital Hall, WMCI Volunteer Teacher and award-winning erhuist Xiaolu Ma will be delivering an accompanied erhu concert. The song selection, which ranges from Chinese Civil War-Era ballads to modern film scores, will take the audience on a moving journey through Chinese culture and history. The erhu, which can be heard in everything from ancient folk songs to today?s popular music, carries on an ancient--yet continually evolving--legacy through the unique beauty of its sound.

This concert is free and open to the public.
