Professor Steven Salaita presents "Native America and Palestine in an Era of Global Insurgency"

This talk will examine national liberation movements among Natives and Palestinians, with emphasis on their overlapping qualities and aspirations. That Indigenous national liberation is so often ignored or circumscribed in activist and electoral discourses severely limits the possibility of revolution in the Global North. Far from being a fringe issue, Native and Palestinian liberation is central to any serious movement for justice inside and beyond the United States.

Steven Salaita is author of eight books, most recently Inter/Nationalism: Decolonizing Native America and Palestine. He writes at stevesalaita.com.
