Join the Christian Legal Society for a discussion with Daniel Gibson, a civil and appellate lawyer for Stam Law Firm. Mr. Gibson will be sharing with us advice on becoming a lawyer, telling us stories about his walk with the Lord, and answering questions from students.

Mr. Gibson joined Stam Law Firm, PLLC in October of 2018. Mr. Gibson practices in the areas of general civil litigation, business formation and transactions, North Carolina Constitutional law, and appeals. Mr. Gibson has argued several cases in front of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court and represented dozens of clients in North Carolina state courts.

Mr. Gibson was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2015. Prior to joining Stam Law Firm, Mr. Gibson practiced general civil and appellate litigation at two other small firms in North Carolina. Mr. Gibson has worked in district attorneys offices, law firms small and large, and judicial chambers. Mr. Gibson interned with Justice Paul Newby of the North Carolina Supreme Court, District Attorney Phil Berger, Jr. of Rockingham County, and several law firms in Winston-Salem while attending Wake Forest University School of Law.

At Wake Forest law school, Mr. Gibson worked as Professor Tanya Marsh’s research assistant for more than two years researching and analyzing relevant cases, statutes and secondary sources to help her conceptualize and organize the materials for a class and two books on funeral and cemetery law. Mr. Gibson and Tanya Marsh co-authored,“Cemetery Law: The Common Law of Burying Grounds in the United States,” the first of its kind.

While in law school, Mr. Gibson served as vice president for the Wake Forest Federalist Society and the Christian Legal Society. He received the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Award for his trial advocacy skills and earned awards for his performance in constitutional law and legislation and administrative law, as well as a certificate of appreciation from then Gov. Pat McCrory for his service to the state.

Since graduating from law school, Mr. Gibson has received the Allen A. Bailey award from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and been admitted to the E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders. In 2020, Mr. Gibson was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers: a recognition given to no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in North Carolina. Super Lawyers recognizes excellent lawyers who are under 40 or have been in practice for less than 10 years.

Mr. Gibson is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, 10th Judicial District Bar, and the Wake County Bar Association. Mr. Gibson is admitted to practice in all North Carolina state courts, the United States Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Gibson is a member of Christian Legal Society and the Federalist Society and an Alliance Defending Freedom Allied Attorney.
