Banan F. Malkawi '05 is an Amman-based journalist, and is the managing editor of the English-language site for Ammon News, Jordan's first electronic news agency. Since 2004, she has worked as a news editor and translator with several news agencies, and as a lecturer on Middle East political affairs, Islamic studies, and Arabic language instructor.

Ms. Malkawi serves as an active member of a number of inter-faith dialogue advocacy groups working to bridge cultural and religious divides between communities in the Arab World and the West.

She is also currently an instructor at Amman Ahliyyah University teaching Islamic Studies and Arabic.

Malkawi has participated in many conferences and symposiums throughout the world focusing on contemporary Islamic thought, human rights, media and freedoms, and interfaith dialogue.
