The Institute for Integrative Conservation, in collaboration with the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, presents the award-winning documentary: “INVISIBLE HAND, a film by Melissa Troutman & Joshua Pribanic.

INVISIBLE HAND is a “paradigm shifting” documentary about the creation of ‘Rights of Nature’.

Rights of Nature are the beginning of a new legal paradigm in western culture. The idea argues that nature holds inalienable rights, and that vital parts of Nature — a river or watershed or ecosystem — shall be granted personhood in the court of law and be provided with legal standing to defend itself.

INVISIBLE HAND presents a defining battle of our times, where Nature, democracy and capitalism face off in rural America.

Does Nature have legal rights? Join the Institute for Integrative Conservation for an outdoor evening screening of this provocative film as we launch the IIC Conservation Speaker Series: "Reimagining Protected Area Conservation”.

Thursday, September 22, 7:00 pm at W&M Crim Dell Meadow

Limited seating will be available. Guests are advised to bring a blanket for the lawn.
