[PAST EVENT] Future of Iraq Symposium

The keynote speech, "The Day After Tomorrow: Iraq and America," will be given by former Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 4PM in Room 119. He is a six-time U.S. ambassador and dean and executive director at the George Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University. Ambassador Crocker is this year's Kraemer Middle East Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence at William & Mary.
A roundtable, "Iraq: Yesterday and Tomorrow," will be held in Room 119 from 9AM to noon on Friday, Oct. 9.
A booksigning will also be held at the Law School from 8:30AM to 9AM and from 12 to 12:30PM.
Roundtable participants will include Ambassador Crocker, along with
Zaid Al-Ali, Princeton University, author of the book, "The Struggle for Iraq's Future: How Corruption, Incompetence, and Sectarianism Have Undermined Democracy,"
Sarhang Hamasaeed of the U.S. Institute of Peace,
and Emma Sky of Princeton University, author of the recently published book, "The Unraveling: High Hopes and Missed Opportunities in Iraq."
Professor Christie Warren, director of the Center for Comparative Legal Studies and Post-Conflict Peacebuilding, will serve as moderator.
Sponsored by the Center for Comparative Legal Studies and Post-Conflict Peacebuilding, the Reves Center for International Studies, the Kraemer Middle East Scholar-in Residence Program, and the Law School's Comparative Legal Student Scholars. Financial aid and logistical support provided by Lois Critchfield and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
