via ZoomCo-sponsored by the Counseling Center, the Phi Beta Owl Club of Psi Upsilon, & the Phi Beta Alumni Association, Inc., this panel program will focus on providing students thoughtful strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional issues that often arise during the final exam period. W&M alumni panelists will provide their expert perspective on coping with the pressures associated with finals. Counseling Center Panelists
Annalucia Bays, Ph.D., CGP is a Staff Psychologist and the Group Therapy Coordinator at the W&M Counseling Center. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, the Counseling Psychology program, in 2018. Her interests include group and individual psychotherapy; marginalized/underrepresented social groups; sexuality, race and ethnicity, anxiety, gender identity, relationship difficulties, sexual assault/trauma, family-of-origin, women’s issues, and other cultural factors; clinical leadership, supervision, teaching/training, and program development.
Leanna Pittsenbarger, Psy.M. is a psychology predoctoral intern at the W&M Counseling Center. She is a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Wright State University. Her interests include individual and group psychotherapy, identity development (race, gender, religion, sexuality, etc), working with current and former athletes, LGBT+ related concerns, family of origin concerns, social justice & issues surrounding power/privilege/oppression, and interpersonal relationship concerns.
W&M Alumni Panelists
Amy K. Conrad, Ph.D., ABPP-CN is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She is also a Research Assistant Professor of Medical/Clinical Psychology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Conrad earned her B.A. in International Studies (specifically Russian/Soviet Studies) from the College of William & Mary in 1993. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Dr. Conrad completed her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship in the TBI and Coma Recovery Unit at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She completed her post-doctoral neuropsychology fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and is certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.
Daniel F. Rowe, M.D., M.S. is a practicing psychiatrist, board certified in 2014 by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and currently working on the inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry unit of the Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital in Salem, MA. Dr. Rowe is a former Assistant professor of Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA where he worked from 2012 - 2015 and where he was the recipient of the UMASS Semi-Annual Medical Student Teaching Award for the department of Psychiatry in 2014. Dr. Rowe completed his residency training in Psychiatry between 2008 and 2012 at Steward St Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, MA where he also served as Chief Resident of Psychiatry. Dr. Rowe completed his Medical Degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA between the years of 2004 and 2008 after receiving a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences degree at EVMS in the year 2004. During the years from 2000 to 2003, Dr. Rowe worked as a research lab assistant with Dr. Lopa Mishra at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and with Dr. Margaret Shupnik at the University of Virginia. Prior to this, Dr. Rowe completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Psychology at the College of William and Mary between the years 1996 and 2000.
Jordan Wilson, Psy.D. graduated from William & Mary in 2004 and received his doctorate in clinical psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology in 2015. He currently works at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, an inpatient state psychiatric hospital with both civil individuals and those found not guilty by reason of insanity. He has worked in the private practice setting providing individual and couples therapy as well as psychological assessment to adolescents and adults.
