[PAST EVENT] 14th Annual Graduate Research Symposium
March 20, 2015 - March 21, 2015
9am - 1:30pm
The annual Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) is a unique educational and networking event, encouraging exchange between disciplines and bringing together students from William & Mary and regional universities. The focus of the Symposium is on the individual student and his or her research, though graduate students take the opportunity to discuss ongoing research in their fields.
The GRS is the only broadly themed, graduate student focused conference designed to bring together graduate students from differing areas of study and from all stages of the degree process. It is an exciting opportunity to share experiences common to students in all graduate school communities. In 2015, there will be more than 150 oral presentations and 20 posters by graduate students from all 11 W&M Graduate Arts & Sciences Programs and 16 regional institutions including Clemson, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, and UVA.
You will not want to miss Eve Bourbeau-Allard's award winning Humanities presentation "A Widow's Purview: A Microhistory of Gender and Family Relations in the 18th-Century Virginia Backcountry" on Friday, March 20 from 2:30-3:30pm in Tidewater A. Vitek Jirinec will be presenting his award winning Natural and Computational Sciences research "Wood Thrush microhabitat associations: implications for species persistence in human-modified landscapes" on Saturday, March 21 from 11:00-12:00pm in Chesapeake C.
Join us for our poster session Friday from 3:30-6:00 which will be concurrent with our Networking Reception.
