In collaboration with The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, The Charles Center presents the first lecture of its speaker series, 'Monuments, Memory, and Migration'.


As millions of people are displaced by war, religious extremism, and authoritarian regimes, journalists are faced with the question of how to cover these events in ways that will continue to resonate with the public. 

Sasha Ingber is a multimedia journalist who spent the last 2.5 years working as a news reporter for NPR and she will discuss her reporting from Asia, the Middle East, and a desk in Washington, D.C. 


Ingber will speak about her NPR radio story, Rohingya Refugees Create Music To Memorialize Culture For Future Generations, where she used music to show how authorities tried to erase the identity of the Rohingya, a religious minority who were forced to flee their homeland in Myanmar.
