Reves Hall is William & Mary's own "Global Village," housing international and domestic students with an interest in international affairs.
Reves Hall is designed to foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages students to pursue global scholarship, engage in intellectual debate, develop cross-cultural competence, and expand their awareness of the issues that affect our interconnected global community.
Students commit to participating in Reves Hall programs and activities which include:
- An exclusive core academic experience for residents through participation in a 1 credit course taught by renowned scholar, Dr. Stephen Hanson, vice provost for international affairs. The Fall 2013 course is required of students selected to live in Reves Hall and the course is only open to Reves Hall residents. This course is a great opportunity to have intimate and serious discussions about global issues and politics.
- Spring semester trip to meet policymakers in Washington D.C.
- Reves Hall Coffee Hour: A speaker series with informal discussions between students, professors, and other guest speakers on global affairs.
- Cultural and Social Events: International potluck dinners, pumpkin carving party, holiday festivities, etc.
- Activities co-sponsored with student groups
These programs are supported and overseen by a Reves Hall Program Coordinator, an undergraduate student who lives in Reves Hall and works with the Reves Center faculty advisor to coordinate programming.
During the application period, students can also apply for the position of Reves Hall Programming Coordinator. As compensation for his/her programming duties, the Reves Hall Programming Coordinator receives a stipend of $500 per semester and is given first choice in room selection.
